About Us

Mr. A. R. Narayanan is not just a businessman when it comes to poetry. Straddling both worlds quite successfully, Mr. Narayanan has a definite bias towards the Muse. It is a passion that sometimes overwhelms every other life's activity.

A science graduate, Mr. Narayanan did not choose a career of test tubes and formulae. He decided to take a path less taken and that made all the difference.

After college he moved to Chennai where he spent nearly twenty years in business, as financial and management consultant.
"Business has been a source of joy and rewarding too. Poetry, the other river of my life, is something I can't live without. It has been a central thing to me. All these years I have been working hard to see if I'll be able to make these two rivers converge," says Mr. Narayanan, who now administers Campus Canada an institution that helps students gain admission in Canadian colleges.

His first poetic composition was 'Truth and Myth,' couplet quips, spicy and readable. "This was published in Madras way back in1995. They are couplets that cover a wide range of subjects of general interest,Truth and Myth being the main thread. This work has found its way into e-books library of Illinois University, Gutenberg Literary Archive Foundation, a pioneering endeavour by Prof. Michael Hart and, from it, to other e-books publishers on the net

A few other poetic works and short stories followed.

Now Mr. Narayanan has completed what he considers the most challenging work so far – an English translation of Poonthanam's 'Njanappana.'“ It took me three months to complete this versified translation. I have named it ‘Chalice of Knowledge' and it is composed in the original metre. I have tried to bring in the complete text imbued with meaning, imagery, philosophy, faith, devotion and sentiments that Poonthanam instilled in his great work. "

'Blessed Me' a melodic poetic translation of noted poet-lyricist Bichu Thirumala's 'Punyaham,' 'Thorny Flowers,' anthology of own English poems, 'Ente Dukham,' a collection of couplet quips darting sarcastic comments at social evils are some of his other important works.

'Blessed Me.' has foreword by, Dr. R.E. Asher, Professor of English, Edinburgh University and rceived a letter of appreciation from Mark Sykes, Editor-in-chief, Minerva Press, London.

One of my poems titled 'The Fate,' was selected by poetry.com and included in their The Sound of Poetry collection released on both CD and audio cassette in a three-album set. Many of my works are read on the poetry blogs in sulekha.com. Just type A.R. Narayanan in any search engine of Internet and you reach him

Mr. Narayanan is now working on a versified translation of the Bhagavad Gita.
