I am catering Canadian education to students of south India, where the standard of education is supposedly higher than that of any other part of India.
Foreign educational credentials are sought for arming oneself for a better bargain in Indian employment market, for the local public regards foreign credentials with high esteem as the last word in that particular discipline.
In Kerala, study in U.S. and U.K were considered as real “foreign education” until I came up with attractive study solutions in Canada. It also aroused the attention of the students all over when I offered education exclusively in Canada.
Students aspiring for foreign study are with Higher Secondary Credentials completing twelve years of curriculum prescribed by Central or State Board of Secondary Education in schools, or having three years bachelor and two years Master’s degrees, from universities too.
I provide information they require, assess their past academic performance, the self grooming, suitability and adaptability for the course they are interested in and, if they do not, suggest alternate course befitting their background and innate attributes.
Our students do not have clear-cut idea as to their goal, what they are made up of, what is their innate faculty, what they can learn, what profession suits them and where they get it. The aspiration is for taking up a course studying which some other has carved out a luxurious living. Not all get it and when fail, fall in despair. I analyse their background, inherent strengths and weaknesses and tell them what they are designed for, what were their false beliefs about their own past and future education, what they are designed for, what is best suited to them and where they could get it.
Invariably all students aspiring for foreign study, having been taught throughout in English as medium of instruction, have moderate proficiency in that world language. Still, the Canadian government insists on students having adequate proficiency in English to grasp what is taught and to live in an English speaking ambience. It should be proved by points scored in IELTS or TOEFL.
People of Kerala, this small province in the India’ southern promontory, enterprising to the core, have gone in search of opportunities to every nook and corner of the world, predominantly, in Arabian Gulf countries.
